CSEA/Justice Affairs Collaboration

Description of our program:
Assist parties in establishing custody rights through answering questions and providing them with the appropriate paperwork required for filing in Juvenile Court.  If they can’t file in Juvenile Court we will direct them to the proper court to establish their custody or visitation rights. Parties can get the Pro se paperwork and assistance either at the CSEA office in the lobby or at the Whitlatch Bldg in the lower level.

Cases filed related to custody or visitation in Juvenile Court are referred to mediation so the parties can work on creating parenting plans that enable both parents to play an active role in the raising of their children.

Mediation is a voluntary process that fosters better communication between the mother and the father, provides a safe environment to discuss family issues, expedites the court process, saves the parties money and empowers families to develop their own parenting plan.
